The South Campus is currently recruiting check-in volunteers for Kids Quest. What does a check-in volunteer do? Well, you probably interact with one every weekend when coming to Gateway. They check volunteers and children in with our computer software and print out name tags and parent receipts. Other check-in volunteers greet families when they arrive and are waiting to be checked in while others register first time guests and show them where their kids go.

Serving as a check-in volunteer is easy and fun! We have a great community of check-in volunteers who have a lot of fun working together each week. Check in volunteers arrive early so they can begin checking in kids and volunteers 30 minutes before the service begins, but they’re usually finished 10 to 15 minutes after each service begins, so serving as a check-in volunteer is one of the most convenient volunteer roles.

I sent out an email last week stating that the final deadline to register your kids for camp was at the end of this week.

I was wrong – Yes, that was hard to say.

All of our other materials and the information on the camp page of this site stated that today, May 10th was the last day to register. So, if you want to guarantee your child’s spot, do so TODAY! Register and pay the non-refundable deposit and we’ll hold your spot. Our registration will remain open for the rest of the week; however, there is no guarantee that registrations after today (May 10th) will remain. The camp we are going to is completely over books and since we have 9 spots remaining, they might go to other kids on waiting lists.

So, if you want to ensure your child gets into camp, register right now! If it’s after May 10th, email kidsquest@gatewaychurch.com to see if you can still get in. We’ll determine availability on a case by case basis.

Summer camp is significant! Stats say that more than 80% of Christ followers decided to follow Jesus between the ages of 4-14. A significant number of these kids began their relationship with God at summer programs like camp. As I look back at my spiritual formation, some of the most life-changing experiences that shaped who I am today happened at summer camp as a kid. The Kids Quest staff looks forward to offering similar experiences for the kids at Gateway.

There’s only one problem. We have kids who want to go and parents who want to send their kids who lack the financial means. It’s our desire to take any kid to camp who wants to go. Already, several staff and volunteers have anonymously provided full and partial scholarships, but we still need more. We only have space for about 15 more kids, many of whom need some financial assistance. Would you consider helping a child experience a summer camp they’ll never forget?

However, many among us have experienced the deep grief of losing a child through abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth and other infant loss. This Mother’s Day weekend, Gateway would like to honor these short quiet lives of your children. We invite you and your friends and family to remember your children at our special memorial service.
