What’s the point of the LOCK-IN-APALOOZA?
It’s a really fun way for kids to get to know each other better. One of our core values is relationships. Our adult leaders and your kids can build friendships in this one night; what would normally take months of Sunday morning services. Did we say it was fun already? You can’t ever really have too much fun!
What safety measures are you taking?
Safety is our number one priority! LOCK-IN-APALOOZA is a well planned event where every minute is accounted for. All of our leaders (including those of Lifetime Fitness) are background checked and we’ll maintain a low leader to child ratio (at least 1 leader to every 10 kids). Our policies and procedures are in place to ensure that every child is cared for and accounted for throughout the entirety of this event.
What if my child gets homesick?
Parents are usually more concerned about this than the children participating in the event. We keep the kids busy enough that most don’t have a chance to even think about being homesick. When a child indicates that they want to go home, we will usually attempt to divert their attention first. Most of the time their desire to go home passes as they get busy with a new fun activity. However, if a child is insistent, we will call you to come and pick up your child.
Can I call my child?
Our rules restrict children from bringing electronic devices, which include cell phones. We prefer that parents not talk to their kids as this usually makes kids more homesick. We will provide a phone number to call if you must speak with your child or a leader.
Can my child bring friends?
Absolutely! Bring as many as you want. However, registration for this event will close at midnight on August 11th. After August 11th, we cannot accept any more registrations. This policy is firm.
Are you people crazy?
Why, because we’re willing to stay up all night with hundreds of crazy kids? Yeah, maybe we are, but aren’t your kids worth it? Besides, your kids are going to love it!
