Yes, it’s that time of year again. The weather is getting warmer… at least warm enough to hold an outdoor baptism!
On Sunday, April 5th, we’ll be celebrating baptism as both the North and South Campus! Details are still coming, but go ahead and mark your calendar and invite the family and friends to come. It looks like the baptisms will take place directly after the services, but we’ll post details as soon as we know.
Baptism is a big step and anyone, especially kids, shouldn’t take that step without first understanding what baptism is and why we do it. So, we request that every child attend one of our baptism classes. The class is designed for kids and their parents and the material is presented in a way that any child can understand. Here are the dates and locations of our upcoming baptism classes:
North Campus Kids Baptism Class: Sunday, March 15th at 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM in the Garage.
South Campus Kids Baptism Class: Sunday, March 22nd at 11:30 AM in the Choir Room.
Click here to access the baptism class schedule where you can register for classes at both the North and South Campuses.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We’ll have more information early next week as well as a place to register for baptism.

Hello! Just out of curiosity, what are the ages of some of the youngest children that get baptized? I have two kids and am exploring the idea of when the best time for them to get baptized is.
Thanks!

I had another class that conflicted with last Tuesday’s child dedication class at Gateway. I plan on attending the March 15th @ 9:30 Kids Baptism Class. I guess I am seeking out what Traditions Gateway practices as a church. I am familiar with the several different traditions that I witnessed in my non-denominational / ecumenical upbringing. I’m not quite sure what I believe about christenings, baptisims, annointments, dedications, confirmations & whatever else there maybe. I myself was annointed with holy water when I became a church member at age 13 in my parent’s church. My former husband and I had our daughter Christened as an infant in front of our former church, family & friends. My 2 year old son has yet to have any ceremonial blessing. If you would like to discuss Gateway’s traditions with me personally I would enjoy the one on one Q&A but for time’s sake maybe we should wait until after the group class.

Hello! I have an 8 month old. Are you Baptizing infants? If so, do we still need to attend the class? Any info would be great! Thanks!

Where can I sign up for my children to be baptized, or will the information be given on the scheduled class dated thee 15th of march?
Is this just for children?, where can I find information pertaining to getting baptized myself?
Thanks!!!
Blessings
Erica

I’ve written very specific instructions on how Gateway responds to infant baptism. We don’t do it, but we do have an amazing “Child Dedication” service. Read all about Child Dedication here: http://www.kidsquestonline.com/dedication/

FYI:
A few weeks ago I wrote very detailed information about Child Dedication. You can read it here: http://www.kidsquestonline.com/dedication/ On a weekly basis I have parents ask me about baptizing their infants. The previous link will clearly explain how Gateway approaches this.
However, next week I will be writing detailed information about Child Baptism. So, stay tuned.
