McNeil Campus News

On Sunday we held a Parent 411 (information meeting). I’m not going to lie, I had hoped more parents would have attended. I’m just going to assume that everyone is planning to attend the next Parent 411 on August 3rd. Right? However, it was actually a great time with those who did attend.

I’ve had many people anxious to meet me and my family. I’m really looking forward to getting to know our Gateway parents (although there are a lot more of you than there are of me). For the Parent 411 I decided to be a little creative in introducting myself. I decided to play a little game: Two truths and a lie. I listed off two truths and a lie and left it up to the paretns to decide which statement about myself was untrue. I thought I’d post them here and let all of our parents play. I’ll wait until a few days after our next Parent 411 to post the answers. I’m going to give away some prizes. If you want to play, simply comment on this post by writing which statement you believe to be the lie. Once the game is over I’ll draw a name or two from those who got it right. I promise, the prize you could win is definately woth the 30 seconds it will take to comment.

So, are you ready? Here goes!

  • Last December I was in Orlando and from a distance I saw the space shuttle launch.
  • Several years ago I was in a moped accident trying to avoid a cobra in the road and ended up spilling over only about 3 feet from the deadly snake.
  • In college, I accidentally stapled an index card to my forehead.

Go for it!

  1. Sara Reed Says:

I’d have to say you didn’t have that moped accident.

  2. Jo Kretzler Says:

The whole cobra story sounds a little too Indiana Jones to be believable!

  3. Kristen G. Says:

I think seeing the space shuttle launch is the lie;)

  4. Holly Williams Says:

Nope, it is the space shuttle that you did not see!

  5. Jeff Billo Says:

The moped accident sounds fishy, but that may be the genius of it. I’ll vote for the staple an index card to the forehead statement.

  6. Kelly Cotter Says:

Space shuttle story is a lie!

  7. Cara-Lee Says:

I don’t think you look like the moped type. I’ll guess the cobra story.

  8. Laurinda Says:

My guess is the 1st one–I don’t believe you saw the space shuttle.

  9. Stacey McCraw Says:

I think it’s the index card

  10. Courtney Ryan Ortiz Says:

Space shuttle launch is a lie.

  11. Martin Ortiz Says:

I’d say you didn’t see the space shuttle launch in December.

  12. Renee Cummins Says:

I have to go with the lie being stapling an index card to your forehead…not that I don’t believe you’d do it…

  13. Ray and Heather James Says:

Hey Kenny, we think it is awesome that you and your family are now part of the Gateway family but I have to call you on your big lie. You may have been in Florida last december but you definitely did NOT see a space shuttle launch.

  14. Kendra Thomsen Says:

You did not staple an index card to your head…I mean, really, I hope you didn’t!

  15. Jen Fahlsing Says:

Sorry, you didn’t see the space shuttle launch.

  16. Leslie Escalante Says:

How does someone “accidentally” staple anything to their forehead? I’m gonna say no… I don’t think you did that.
