Kids Quest Online

Pajama Program, a 501(c)(3) charity, provides new pajamas and new books to needy children, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. Many of these youngsters have been abused or abandoned and in many cases, have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a loving mother or father tuck them in at bedtime. Through the Pajama Program, we hope to contribute to a warmer, more loving environment for children when they are at their most vulnerable.

The Program, to-date, has given away more than 550,000 pairs of pajamas and 250,000 books! This is where you come in! Gateway families will be collecting pajamas and books in the Kids Quest Lobby through the month of May. You and your child can grab a pair of pajamas in your child’s size and one of their favorite books to donate on Sunday! Don’t forget… kids can wear their pj’s to church this month too!

I sent out an email last week stating that the final deadline to register your kids for camp was at the end of this week.

I was wrong – Yes, that was hard to say.

All of our other materials and the information on the camp page of this site stated that today, May 10th was the last day to register. So, if you want to guarantee your child’s spot, do so TODAY! Register and pay the non-refundable deposit and we’ll hold your spot. Our registration will remain open for the rest of the week; however, there is no guarantee that registrations after today (May 10th) will remain. The camp we are going to is completely over books and since we have 9 spots remaining, they might go to other kids on waiting lists.

So, if you want to ensure your child gets into camp, register right now! If it’s after May 10th, email kidsquest@gatewaychurch.com to see if you can still get in. We’ll determine availability on a case by case basis.

Summer camp is significant! Stats say that more than 80% of Christ followers decided to follow Jesus between the ages of 4-14. A significant number of these kids began their relationship with God at summer programs like camp. As I look back at my spiritual formation, some of the most life-changing experiences that shaped who I am today happened at summer camp as a kid. The Kids Quest staff looks forward to offering similar experiences for the kids at Gateway.

There’s only one problem. We have kids who want to go and parents who want to send their kids who lack the financial means. It’s our desire to take any kid to camp who wants to go. Already, several staff and volunteers have anonymously provided full and partial scholarships, but we still need more. We only have space for about 15 more kids, many of whom need some financial assistance. Would you consider helping a child experience a summer camp they’ll never forget?

If you’re reading this post, it’s probably because you are a parent. However, many among us have experienced the deep grief of losing a child through abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth and other infant loss. This Mother’s Day weekend, Gateway would like to honor these short quiet lives of your children. We invite you and your friends and family to remember your children at our special memorial service. We pray this service will be a sweet time of worship and comfort for you.
